Paediatric and preventive dentistry
Healthy smiles start in childhood. At Confident, we look after children’s teeth through preventive care, with a gentle, friendly and professional approach.
Paediatric and preventive dentistry focuses on maintaining oral health, preventing tooth decay and building healthy habits from an early age. Regular check-ups, fluoride treatment, fissure sealants and oral hygiene advice help protect both baby teeth and permanent teeth.
The information on this page is general in nature. What is right for you is decided after an examination and a conversation with your dentist.

When should a child first see the dentist?
The first visit is recommended within six months of the first tooth coming through, and no later than the first birthday.
How often should children’s teeth be checked?
Usually every six months, although the interval can be adjusted to the risk of decay and individual needs.
Do baby teeth need looking after too?
Yes. They help with chewing and speech, and they hold the space for the permanent teeth.
